How We Work
Many people have goals and dreams, but a goal without a plan is just a wish... an achievable goal is a dream with a deadline...
Here's how we formulate the plan to achieve your financial freedom using the ad+ Financial Planning Process:
Step 1 - Exploration
We meet to discuss how financial planning can work for your personal circumstances and your current financial situation. We’ll tell you about the ad+ Financial Planning Process and what you can expect from us, including the costs and how we work to form a lifelong financial relationship with you as your plan constantly evolves. We’ll tell you about the information needed to get started and we'll explain how all of this information builds a profile which will help us to formulate your plan. At this point you’ll decide if we are the right Financial Planners for you and your circumstances
Step 2 – All about You, your Goals & Ambitions
We'll discuss your personal circumstances and your current financial situation, and we’ll go into detail so that we can draw up a complete picture of where you are now, and where you want to arrive. We'll discuss your objectives and your aspirations, as well as any concerns that may arise. We'll discuss risk and reward, and your attitude towards investment risk, as this feedback from you will enable us to construct any investment portfolio which may form part of the plan. You'll see as we move forward in our discussions how all this fits into place in your personal plan. Finally we’ll ask about you, your occupation, your savings & investments, your mortgage, your current liabilities and your tax position. We will then analyse all this information, gather additional details from any existing insurers or investment companies if necessary, and use it to start work on preparing your plan. (For Focused Financial Planning only, we will restrict our discussions to the relevant area)
Step 3 – Strategy Presentation
So now we know where you are and where you want to be. At this step we'll discuss with you our analysis of your current position, confirm details of where you are right now, and outline our initial thoughts for the plan. We'll then present our detailed strategy and any recommended actions required for you to achieve your goals. Your Personal Financial Plan will map out the journey to your objectives, and we establish the best and most time-efficient route to get you there. We review with you your current income and expenditure, your assets and liabilities, and how your existing finances can be best utilised towards the achievement of your financial goals. Your Personal Financial Plan will also present the cost of achieving your objectives.
(For Focused Financial Planning your report will only deal with the area under focused consideration)
Step 4 - Checkpoint
This is the point where you give us feedback on your Personal Financial Plan, where we confirm with you that all the details are relevant and correct, or adjust any aspects of the plan which need changing.
Step 5 - Implementation
It's time to implement the plan. Every course of action we have recommended and agreed with you is now put into motion.
Step 6 – The Diamond Programme
This is a comprehensive service programme which includes regular reviews and progress updates. Review dates will be agreed, and should take place at least annually, more regularly if required or requested. The purpose of regular monitoring of your Personal Financial Plan is to enable you to clearly see progress towards reaching your financial goals, and for us to make any course adjustments that may be required. Working closely with you we will explain overall how the plan is going and agree with you any modifications to keep it on track towards the achievement of your goals.
